New Entry Sustainable Farming Project

The New Entry Sustainable Farming Project began in 1998 as a way to support new farmers and strengthen the local food system through training and technical assistance, land access, and business development. They provide a myriad of courses for new farmers, ranging from the nuances of crop production to farm business planning. After going through the coursework, the “Incubator Farm” project gives students the opportunity to run their own small plot, with access to farm tools, assistance from farm managers, and infrastructural support. New Entry also targets hunger relief through their Food Access Program. In 2020, they made available $100,000 worth of locally-grown produce for low-income families, seniors, and children.
Moraine Farm itself is located on historically preserved land, surrounded by pine trees and with a faint taste of sea salt in the air. If their mission isn’t enticing enough, their carrots and kale certainly are–satisfy your taste buds and your morals by enjoying their tasty produce.
