Located along the Connecticut River, Bardwell Farms has been growing vegetables in the rich western Massachusetts soil since 1685. Harrison Bardwell, the current owner and operator of the farm is a ninth generation farmer who has an associates degree in Sustainable Food and Farming from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture. Harrison is committed to using farming as a means to positively impact both the environment and the local community. On the 30+ acre farm, they grow over 100 different varieties of vegetables using sustainable farming practices to maintain healthy soil and leave less of an environmental footprint.
In addition, Bardwell Farm supports and provides for the local community through a farmstand, farmers’ markets, CSA farm share, wholesale distribution services, and providing educational programs. Harrison educates students of all ages, from elementary school to college students on all things sustainable agriculture, through speaking engagements and farm visits.
