In 2012, Amy Tarlow-Lewis started a campaign to protect the Littleton farmland from development–by 2015, this farmland was preserved under the New England Forestry Foundation as Littleton Community Farm. On top of growing fresh greens and veggies, Littleton Community Farm focuses directly on hunger relief: in 2016, they were able to donate over 6,000 lbs of produce to various food banks; they run a Healthy Shares program–a CSA for those who are not able to afford a share; and have been able to raise over $10,000 for hunger relief during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Littleton Community Farm works to engage the community with the nature that surrounds it—the farm is located right next to a public trail, where hikers can walk by and see the produce being grown. All produce is grown in a no-till farming style and with organic growing techniques. Enjoy their flavorful beets, spinach, kale, and scallions–all while supporting a worthwhile cause!
