Saltbox Farm is a small, mixed vegetable operation that aims to serve the land and our local farm-to table community. Since 2024, the land has been leased by farmer Mat to run a small market garden business. They grow mixed vegetables, herbs, and flowers for various markets; a small CSA, “Saltbox Kitchen” in West Concord, and other wholesale outlets. They use hand-scaled and minimal soil-disturbance methods with the establishment of permanent beds, and no longer use a tractor for field work. Matt's overall approach towards business is based on a holistic framework, which values the ecological health of the land together with lasting relationships in the community.
