Datev Gevorkian started farming in 2022 while he was studying Sustainable Food and Farming at the University of Massachusetts Stockbridge School of Agriculture. His passion for agriculture and old tractors began in high school, and he’s been dreaming of running his own farm ever since. After years of saving, hands-on experience, and learning from seasoned local farmers, he’s finally brought that dream to life—launching his own farming operation on rented land. With dedication and a love for the land, he’s building something of his own from the ground up. Hillcrest Farms is named after his grandfather’s former dairy farm. He chose the name to honor that family legacy and carry it forward. Datev farms 4 crops on 7 acres in Hadley, MA including sweet corn, popcorn, melons, and winter squash.
