Smita and Uday started Giant Gorilla Greens in 2020. The business was founded in response to the combination of chronic medical condition and the COVID-19 pandemic when Smita realized her true mission: to bring farm-fresh, nutrient-rich greens to others, just as they had helped her. She co-founded Giant Gorilla Greens with a vision to make high-quality, sustainably grown produce accessible to all, proving that food isn’t just fuel—it’s medicine. Giant Gorilla Greens is a USDA-certified vertical farm located in Woburn, Massachusetts, specializing in the cultivation of high-quality microgreens. The farm employs advanced controlled environment agriculture techniques to grow nutrient-dense microgreens and herbs. They grow over 20 varieties of microgreens including arugula, broccoli, radishes, and peashoots. Giant Gorilla Greens offers its products to food service distributors, retail stores and direct to consumers.
