Appleton Farms is one of the oldest continuously operating farms in the country, established in 1638 and maintained by nine generations of the Appleton family. The farm was gifted to the Trustees of Reservations in 1998 and has been managed by Farm Manager Andrew Lawson since 2017. They organically grow 40 crops on 35 acres with a focus on lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and carrots. Their growing practices are guided by the National Organic Standards and their our own agroecological approach which focuses on soil health, biodiversity, and resilience.
